A South African staple that’s equally well loved in the UK, rooibos tea is also known as ‘redbush’. Its herb has needle-like leaves and once infused, the tea takes on a translucent ruby-red hue.
Caffeine class: Naturally caffeine-free.
How it tastes: Smooth and slightly sweet on the senses.
To serve one: Heat 250mls of water to 99°C. Add 2 heaped tsps, allow to infuse for 5 minutes and enjoy.
Why it’s special: Known as a great thirst-quencher, this tea counts towards one’s recommended water intake. We love rooibos tea simply brewed, while in South Africa it’s often made with milk and sugar, just like a black tea. You can also try it with a slice of lemon and honey, and sip it hot or cold. Our rooibos is grown on an environmentally responsible farm.
